Tree of Life

This piece is entitled “Tree of Life”. The amulet in this necklace is the tree of life seen as an apple tree full of the apples of knowledge and on one of its branches rests a Phoenix egg while its roots are grounded deeply into moonstone. I designed this amulet so that each aspect of it has a deep and significant meaning to it symbolism.

I would like to tell you a story to explain its symbolism through a little mythology that I created for this piece.

Long ago before the earth had life the goddess of the moon decided that she was tired of seeing her mother goddess the earth bare of color and creation, so she decided to hurl a piece of her heart down upon her mother Gaia to awaken her spirit. From that piece of her heart sprouted a great tree of life and upon its branches grew leaves and from those leaves grew flowers and from those flowers grew fruit. Once the branches began to produce fruit the heart of the tree opened up and put forth a magnificent iridescent black egg. This was the egg of the first phoenix to ever exist upon mother earth. When it hatched it sang a song of creation and from this song all of the first plants on earth grew out from the trees roots and all of the first animals were created from the fruit that fell from its branches.

I decided to create this mythology for this piece to assist the person I’m giving it to. The energy behind this piece is about the creation of plenty for what seems to be nothingness. My message to my friend is that not everything is as bad as it seems and that sometimes if we choose to create ourselves with strong roots we can become a force of creation. May this amulet serve to remind you to always grow and let that growth be fruitful to yourself and others and to stay grounded and rooted into your mother the earth as you walk this path. In this piece you are the egg of the phoenix about to hatch and be born for the first time and overtime reborn again and again. Your soul is on an eternal journey of evolution and this is your beginning not it’s ending.

Peridot – This stone helps with understanding the changes that occur in one’s life and assisting one in the recognition of the detrimental patterns which have been the basis for impairment in attaining that which is necessary for growth. It can be used to cleanse and stimulate the heart and solar plexus chakra’s, bringing openness and acceptance in the intellectual pursuit of matters of love and relationships. It also helps to regulate cycles in one’s life including physical, mental, emotional and intellectual. It provides for a shield of protection around the body and it will prevent outside influences from affecting the aligned, balanced and cleansed chakras. Peridot can be used to bring results to one’s search – the seeking and recovering of that which is lost or mislaid in the physical world, as well as the quest for the enlightened state. It is also an excellent healing stone, acting as a “tonic” to both strengthen and regenerate the body.

Garnet – Garnet is a “stone of health”, extracting negative energy from the chakras, and transmitting the energy to the beneficial state. It acts with speed due to the flash of lightning contained with in, helping one to change one’s world by producing both expansiveness in awareness and manifestation. It enhances ones in ternal fire, bringing the creative powers to the stage of implementation. It allows one to recognize inherent responsibility with respect to personal freedom and patience, inciting personal magnetism and cooperation in instances of change. It has also been known as the “stone of commitment” – to purpose, to others, and to oneself. The loving powers of the Garnet tend to reflect the attributes of devotion, bringing the love of others to expressions of warmth and understanding. It is quite helpful in moods of abandonment, allowing one to realize that surrendered to discontinuity brings freshness to one’s life. The Garnet balances and stimulates the development and movement of energy through the chakras of the body. It’s energies also help to amplify the functions of emotional and intellectual regeneration and the processes therein; in order to achieve the integration of experiences and the acceptance of emotions, with subsequent renewal of the aspects of self-discovery, one must reaffirm the direction of inherent thoughts and feelings. The individual effort to alter one state of mind and emotions, through self adjustment of personal dissidence, in order to regain integration and or balance, can be promoted via working with, and identifying through, the Garnet. The Garnet provides a protective influence and a calming stable vitality during use.

Moonstone – The energy of moonstone is balancing, introspective, reflective, and lunar. It is capable of healing one with the changing structures of one’s life and the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. The energy relate to “new beginnings”, allowing one to realize that these “new beginnings” are, in actuality, the fruition of each “end”. It is the stone for hoping and wishing it allows one to absorb that which is needed from the universal energies, not necessarily, however, furthering that which is wanted. It helps one to recognize the “ups downs” and to gracefully acknowledge the changing cycles. It can assist one is the staining and maintaining, and understanding the destiny one has chosen. It works to bring the galactic energies from other world to accessibility. It is a stone for feeling, and understanding via intuition and emotional thoughts, rather than via intellectual reasoning. It brings flashes of insight, banishing the possibility of neglecting ones profit from that which is experienced. It stimulates intuitive recognition and helps one to apply the intuitive knowledge in a practical sense. It also enhances perception and discernment, enabling want to make decisions which painlessly further once development. It can be used to alleviate emotional tension and to enhance the positive attributes of creativity and self-expression. It cleanses the negativity from the chakras, enhancing the feminine aspect of one’s nature while providing for spiritual nourishment and sustenance, and a loving compassion to further assist one through all changes.

Black Pearl – The Pearl symbolizes purity and can stimulate the condition in one’s body and mind; hence, providing a clear vehicle for the advancing states of wisdom, as well as a clear channel for receipt of spiritual guidance. The Pearl has been known as a “stone of sincerity”, bringing truth to situations and loyalty to a “cause”. It helps to provide a reflection of the cell such that one may see the manner in which one appears to others. It has also been used to treat illness within the body and bring peace to the mind. (I choose the a black pearl to help remove any negativity from the wearers mind, body, emotions and spirit.)

The descriptions of the stones properties was taken from the book “Love is in the Earth” by Melody. This is one of my favorite books about the metaphysical properties of the mineral kingdom.
