Each shelf is 6 quart jars deep or 8 pint jars deep double stacked. We also have a small accessible side pantry next to the fridge that we reload from this larger source. We estimate that we have 1000+ canning jars (quarts to half pints) total full of food and another 200 – 300 empty jars waiting to be used. I purchase a lot of jars used at 1/3 the cost or less and put new rings and seals on them, and I usually buy these rings and seals in bulk. I also have a very large storage of bulk dry goods that we store at the bottom of the pantry along with canning equipment. This pantry represents thousands of hours of work in wild food foraging, farming/gardening and food preservation.
