It’s that time of year again when I’m transplanting my little green babies into their starter cells. Currently right now I am planting six varieties of tomatoes, two varieties of kale, two varieties of broccoli, two varieties of cauliflower, collards, butternut and acorn squash, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, four different kinds of sunflowers, eight different kinds of herbs, two different kinds of green onions, zucchini, and sweet meat squash as well as some lupine, purple coneflower echinacea, and zinnia flowers.
When the ground gets warmed up I will also be planting seeds directly into the garden for carrots, radishes, turnips, green beans, and other varieties of vegetables. My favorite thing about this time of the year is preparing the growing mix for the seedlings. I find it extremely therapeutic to put my hands in this lovely organic mixture. Doing this activity is extremely grounding to my energies and good for my soul.
One of the best way for me to express my spiritualism is to help plants to grow to become big and strong and to provide my family with food. The activity of growing a garden with my family is one of the most rewarding activities that I experience with my family throughout the year. The next is preparing meals for my family with this lovely organic food and knowing that it is truly healthy and nutritious.
