This is something I felt the need to put into words today to get certain ideas off my chest. I have had people in the past do this to me and today while digging in the back of the closet of my mind I finally found the words to express these thoughts. Who knows maybe the expression of these thoughts will help others to understand the motivations behind peoples behaviors.
Truth vs. Ego
The reality is you want to believe that I am a selfish and cruel person and the truth is your dysfunctional ego will never let you see the real truth beyond what you “want” to believe. The truth is I have spent many years selflessly giving my time and resources to many people. The reason you refuse to acknowledge this is because you want to believe the worst of me, so that you can justify your treatment of me. You also want to believe the worst of me and treat me badly because it’s easier to do then to acknowledge the reality that I am a decent person that wants nothing to do with you. The other truth that you won’t face is that just because I refused to give something to you doesn’t make me a selfish or unkind person. It actually makes me a smart person who can see through the bullshit of others and who can successfully avoid associating with people with unhealthy or potentially narcissistic egos.
