On Saturday Jeremiah and I built three compost pile bins from reclaimed shipping pallets. It was simple to find the pallets from a local construction business for free. Each compost box has three sides and eventually when they get fuller we will add a support bar along the front. We have been looking forward to creating these compost boxes since last year and now that they’re done we can’t wait to use them. If you want them to last longer you can line them with plastic so that the boards do not rot and eventually I may do that. But, for now I love the work we did because for the fact that it will give us lovely compost to fertilize our vegetables with in the future.
