Well I’m getting all of my lovely green babies growing regardless of the snow outside. I’m running a bit late this year due to everything going on, but I’m growing a lot of wild plants and not just vegetables. Last year if you remember I collected a lot of seeds from wild fruit and so this year I am planting those seeds and getting them started. I took a lot of that wild fruit and made medicinal tea mixtures, delicious jams and jellies along with beautiful wine. When the seedlings get big enough I will be planting them in an area along the woods to let them get bigger. My hope is to use the wild fruit for more medicine, jams and jellies and to make wine or to flavor honey mead. The eventual goal is to cultivate wild fruits and herbs and use them to make items that we can sell online, which will help make SilverCreek Homestead financially sustainable in the future.
