As some of you may know it is dandelion season and I have decided to pick dandelions this year because of their multitude of purposes. You can use them in creating tinctures, oil’s, salves and in cooking and baking as well as making dandelion wine out of them to name a few. Dandelions have a multitude of medicinal properties and they are high in vitamin A and C. The list of their uses is so long that I will not be including it here and I would strongly suggest that if you want to know about dandelion to either do the research online or look them up on Pinterest.
Foraging is a skill set that I have been wanting to develop further for a very long time and I took the dandelion bloom this year as an opportunity to increase my skills. There are so many plants and trees around us that have wonderful medicinal and nutritional properties that should not be overlooked. Many of the plants that we call “weeds” are in fact extremely medicinal and nutritious and should be collected instead of being killed. Today I wanted to share some pictures of my harvest with you to get everyone to think outside of the box about how helpful some things that we call “weeds” actually are to our health.
