Sacred Seed Keeping

The last time I did seed keeping was in 2015, so I decided this year that it was a good idea to do seed keeping again. Except for this year we decided to add a different group of plants besides regular vegetables to our list of seed keeping, which include wild fruits. It is my firm belief that as a child of our mother earth it is my sacred duty and honor to keep seeds and to perpetuate life through them.

One of our goals for next year is to take the seeds from wild fruits and to germinate and plant them out on the land and on public land as an act of conservation. Below is a list of all the plants that we have kept seeds for this year. The picture that follows shows a very small portion of this year seed collection. At some point I’m going to post a picture of all of my seeds to give everyone an idea of the amount of seed keeping I’ve collected over the years.

If I were to add up the value of all of these seeds it would be several thousand dollars just to give you an idea of their value at least monetarily. But, to me they are sacred and priceless and represent the very purest center of my spiritual beliefs and practice.
